Harrington Wyles offers specialist expertise to the self storage industry. HW is owned and managed by Jon Wyles a real estate consultant with over 20 years of commercial property experience, focusing specifically on the self storage sector over the past 15 years.
In 2004 Jon founded Smart Storage Ltd. He has spent eight years as CEO creating and developing Smart Storage into one of the premier independent self storage companies in North West England. The first store opened in 2004 in the Wirral, with additional stores opening across North West UK in Liverpool, Widnes, Warrington and Preston.
Unrivalled Industry Experience
Over this period Jon was responsible for all aspects of the business, including site acquisition, marketing and operations. Jon brought together a Management Team to facilitate the growth of the business as well as day to day operational management. He headed the Management Team that raised £4.5 million of equity and £1.8 million of debt funding to facilitate the role out of Smart Storage.
Jon completed the American Self Storage Association’s Manager Certification course in 2005. He has a BSc (hons) degree in Land Management and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has also been the Vice Chairman of the UK Self Storage Association.
In 2013 Jon relocated to Vancouver, Canada with his family and founded Harrington Wyles Consulting Ltd. The business has helped and advised self storage businesses in Canada, USA and the UK on various issues from trouble shooting under-performing stores, to implementing self storage property management software systems, comprehensive marketing strategies to feasibility studies, acquisition and development of self storage facilities in both Canada and the USA.
Jon has advised operators with facilities from Vancouver Island to Florida, Pennsylvania and across Canada. He has been instrumental in the development and expansion of Stop and Store, a remotely run, automated self storage business with assets in Canada and the USA.
Sally is a professionally qualified Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in Financial Management, managing budgets up to £250 million.
She is a dynamic and forward-thinking individual with extensive global experience in acquisitions and setting up fast growing financial divisions and companies to exceed growth targets.
Sally was Head of Finance for The Sunday Times, Fast Track 100 winner in 2003, with 286% growth in sales over 3 years. She is experienced in working with venture capital clients, supporting the bidding, financial due diligence and buyout process.
Most recently, Sally has been Finance Director of Stop & Store Ltd. (Canada) and Stop & Store Inc. (USA) where she worked closely with CEO Jon Wyles.
Sally was responsible for the design and implementation of bespoke financial software information systems to produce accurate, detailed management information, enabling effective decisions for strategic planning, growth projections and maximising profits.
Sally, has now become Finance Director of Stop & Store in the UK.
Sally is vastly experienced in setting up new companies and integrating financial processes, management, and controls.
